EATING OUT IN BOCAIRENT: BARS AND RESTAURANTS

El Cancell Restaurant

To begin with, we recommend this restaurant located in the town centre of Bocairent,
and just 350 metres from ABBI SUITES. It offers a wide range of typical Mediterranean
dishes cooked over a low heat, which we love.
In Google it has over 600 reviews with an average of 4.4 (very good), and is an
excellent place to be guided by the recommendations of the waiters.

Méson Gandía Restaurant

Meats and vegetables when cooked on the grill have a special smoked taste. If you
are looking for this, then the Méson Gandía Restaurant has an excellent menu to offer
you. The restaurant has another special characteristic, namely that some of the dining
areas are located underground in a cave. It is only 190 metres from ABBI SUITES,
making it a highly attractive option with many things in its favour.
In Google it has 4.5 out of a maximum of 5 in over 300 reviews.

EATING OUT IN BANYERES DE MARIOLA, CLOSE TO BOCAIRENT

Banyeres de Mariola is only 16 minutes away from Bocairent by car, and is another
delightful village containing a thirteenth century medieval Arabic castle, making it an
unmissable place to visit, together with the following restaurant, which is without
doubt one of our favourites!

Pinar Gastronòmic

Its experimental touches and hints of international cooking makes Pinar Gastronòmic
stand out whilst also continuing the tradition of Mediterranean cuisine. In tandem
with its surprising and exquisite flavours, it is an excellent place to enjoy an extensive
list of wines and beers in combination with the quality and passion with which the
owners work. Furthermore, almost the entire menu is apt for people suffering from
celiac disease.

The restaurant has obtained outstanding reviews. Another characteristic of its weekly
menu is that it allows you to sample a range of dishes at an affordable price, with the
star of the show being an unforgettable rice dish called “arròç en llanda”.
Google: 4.8 out of 5 from over 300 reviews.
TripAdvisor: 5 out of 5 from over 50 opinions.
The Fork: 9.6 out of 10.

ALFAFARA, 10 MINUTES AWAY FROM BOCAIRENT

Bocairent.

Casa el Tio David Restaurant

And so, we arrive at our first restaurant included in the Michelin Guide, and without a
shadow of doubt, it is one of our favourites! Waited on by the owners, the place
enjoys an exquisite regional menu, accompanied by excellent wines that complete an
unforgettable culinary experience.
In Google, it scores 4.6 out of 5 in over 200 reviews.
Apart from enjoying the stories and knowledge shared by its owners, you can also
make a booking through its website or by telephone.

At a little over 10 kilometres distance from ABBI SUITES, you will find the village of
Agres, another of our recommendations where you can eat out close to Bocairent.

Pensión Mariola Restaurant

To enjoy a delicious plate of homemade cooking we suggest the Pensión Mariola
Restaurant, one of the most highly regarded in the area. Some of the outstanding
dishes on its menu of traditional recipes are the “Olleta” hotpot, the “Gazpacho
Manchego” stew, and the “Bajoques farcides” stuffed peppers (it is impossible to
choose only one).
More than two thousand appraisals in Google with a valuation of 4.6 out of 5, make
this place more than worthy of a visit.

ONTINYENT, 20 MINUTOS AWAY FROM BOCAIRENT

In a northerly direction just 20 minutes away by car in the Albaida Valley, lies the town
of Ontinyent. The options for eating out are much more extensive here than in the
previous villages we have mentioned. The following three restaurants that we
recommend can be found in the outlying area surrounding Bocairent.

economically, this restaurant offers a wide range of Mediterranean dishes with a
creative touch combined with a close attention to detail.

this culinary tour where the gastronomic options won’t cease to surprise you.

range of meat and fish, as well as its speciality paella valenciana, recognised as one of
the best in the area.

COCENTAINA

And finally, the last stop on our gastronomic tour of Bocairent and its environs is
Cocentaina, where you can visit two restaurants that we also love (as you can see, we
often go out to eat).

Natxo Sellés Restaurant

The chef and owner of this place admits to being passionate about cooking, and works
day in day out to give a personal touch to the best traditional Valencian cuisine. And
he most certainly succeeds in his endeavour.
He has won a Sol prize (from the Repsol Guide), and the restaurant has attained a
highly worthy 4.7 out of 5 in its reviews in Google.

L’Escaleta Restaurant (not just one but two Michelin stars)

Michelin stars, thereby allowing you to enjoy the most exquisite of cuisines. Kiko Moya
and Alberto Redrado are at the helm of this restaurant, which has been in operation
for over 40 years.

called “arroz al cuadrado” or squared rice, served on an iron platter and finished off in
the oven (highly recommendable).

also make reservations.
